React Video Editor Standard License Agreement

License Overview:

This license is for indie developers or small teams of up to 2 people. We’re genuinely passionate about supporting solo builders - whether youre working on a side project or launching something big. This agreement covers usage of React Video Editor in personal, client, and commercial projects.

Permitted Uses:

  • Use in commercial or personal projects by individuals or teams of up to 2, including founders and collaborators.
  • Modify and integrate React Video Editor into your own apps, tools, or workflows.
  • Use across multiple projects, as long as it's within the licensed team.
  • Contractors can use the code under your direction, but must be included in the 2-person limit.

Prohibited Uses:

  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing any part of the source code.
  • Using React Video Editor to build competing products - including video editors, visual timeline tools, video builder libraries, or React-based template kits.
  • Extracting components for use outside the licensed project.
  • Porting the components to other frameworks (Vue, Svelte, Angular, etc.) for redistribution or resale.

No Refund Policy:

Because this license grants immediate access to the full source code, all sales are final. Please review everything carefully before purchasing. If you have questions, reach out first - happy to help before you buy.

License Enforcement:

All rights remain with RVE. Any unauthorized use - especially redistribution, resale, or use in a competing product - will be considered a breach of license. Violations are subject to a financial penalty of £50,000 per breach. RVE reserves the right to audit your use of the product to ensure compliance.

Updates and Access:

This license includes access to bug fixes and improvements within the current major version. Download access is guaranteed for at least 1 year from purchase.

Attribution:

No public attribution is required, but it’s always appreciated. If you’re happy with RVE, a quick shoutout goes a long way.

Open Source Acknowledgment & Remotion License:

React Video Editor is built on top of Remotion, an open-source video rendering engine. You need a valid Remotion license for commercial use, in addition to this one. Check Remotion’s licensing terms to make sure you're compliant.
